The lamps feature translucent, textured acrylic rectangular bases upon which cylindrical metal stems are mounted to hold two bulbs each. Devoid of lampshades, the lamps' minimalist, geometric forms and exposed materials reflect the influence of Brutalism and the Industrial style. The acrylic plinths are cleanly cast and polished, their luminous presence accentuated by the unadorned metallic hardware. The lamps embody the sleek, refined aesthetic of danish Mid-Century Modern design, their simplified shapes and lack of ornamentation following the Minimalist ethos. Yet their heft and sheen exude an underlying sturdiness. With their functionalist forms stripped down to the essentials, the lamps exemplify the mid-century fusion of clean-lined Scandinavian Modernism with the structural directness of Brutalism and the Bauhaus. Minor losses. Faint yellowish stains are discernible on the undersides of each acrylic plinth, bearing witness to the wear and tear inflicted over time by use and transport as can be seen in the pictures.
