About the Item

Elegant pair of sculptural Italian table lamps from the mid-20th century. Each lamp features a solid white marble base in a stylized book form, resting on a rectangular plinth. The natural veining of the marble differs subtly between the two pieces, enhancing their authenticity and character. The front is adorned with a finely textured gilt bronze organic motif, reminiscent of stylized aquatic plants, with a warm original patina. The adjustable brass stem is fitted with double sockets. Dimensions per lamp: Marble base height: 15.75 in (40 cm) Width: 11 in (28 cm) Depth: 4.75 in (12 cm) Total height adjustable: 28 – 33.5 in (71 – 85 cm) Weight: approx. 30.8 lbs (14 kg) each Italy, circa 1955–1975. Very good vintage condition with minor age-related wear and natural discoloration to the marble consistent with age.
