About the Item

Unique Mid-century Danish studio pottery table lamp by ceramist Erik Graeser, made circa 1960s-1970s. Great sculptural shape and interesting contrast between ceramic body and top made of solid teak wood. The colors are earthy brown tones. Handsigned on bottom: Graeser Included is a new lamp shade designed and made in Denmark. It is made of woven fabric with some texture and it is off white. It has a top cover so it will spread a cosy light downwards. About Erik Graeser (1927-2002): Erik Graeser was a Danish sculpturer and ceramist. He studied at the Royal Academy of Arts from 1944-1950. He ran his own ceramic studio from 1951 and was a teacher at the Danish Design School in Kolding (Kolding Kunsthåndværkerskole) from 1968-1971. He worked with ceramic, bronze and granite and took part in many exhibitions. Measurements: Height including lampshade as shown in photos: 57 cm (22.44") (Height can be adjusted) Diameter lamp shade: 34 cm (13.39") Height without socket: 35 cm (13.78") Diameter bottom of base: 11.5 cm (4.53") Light bulb: For type E26/E27 Edison screw-fitting. The lamp is made for Scandinavian outlet. If you use other plugs in your country you can either use an adapter or exchange it with a plug used in your country.

Additions or alterations made to the original: We have added a new lamp shade. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamp remains in very good vintage condition with full function. No cracks or repairs. Tiny chips on ceramic where ceramic and wood meets, most likely from production. The lamp comes with a new lamp shade as seen in images.
