About the Item

Vintage adjustable desk lamp by VEB Narva Leuchtenbau, produced in East Germany (DDR) circa 1970s. This piece reflects Eastern Bloc modernism, known for its functional, no-excess approach to design, combining industrial materials with a bold pop of color. The lamp features a chrome structure with a lacquered yellow metal base and shade, creating a striking contrast while maintaining a clean, utilitarian form. The adjustable head allows for directional lighting, making it ideal as a task lamp for a desk, bedside, or workspace. The base has a solid, heavy weight, giving it great stability and making it especially practical as a work lamp. Pieces from the DDR era are becoming increasingly sought after, and examples with original labels and in this colorway are harder to come by. Its combination of functionality, strong silhouette, and authentic East German production makes it a unique addition to both modern and vintage interiors. The original label remains intact on the underside. Professionally rewired for North American use and ready for immediate installation.
