About the Item

Large in-between mirror with pediment, Louis-Philippe period, mid-19th century, entirely original and unrestored. Narrow and very elongated format (H. 215 cm × L. 70 cm — 50 kg), suitable for pier windows and spaces between windows. Stuccoed and gilded wood frame with red bowl primer, visible in areas of wear. Wide uprights decorated with a diamond-shaped incised network; Interior listel with a string of golden pearls framing the mirror with rounded upper corners. High quality carved pediment, decorated with a large central shell in relief surrounded by scrolls, acanthus leaves and bud flowers, in a late Rocaille spirit. Reverse in poplar planks assembled with transverse reinforcing slats, confirming the age of the structure. Natural wear consistent with age: partially missing gilding, chips of stucco located on the uprights, slight pitting from the ice. Restorations possible on request and quote. We offer a selection of our items, the majority in perfect original condition or restored by our artisan cabinetmakers - upholsterers and gilders. A selection of items to restore is also offered because we have a large stock and these items can be restored according to your desired finish by our craftsmen (choice of varnish - waxed furniture - armchairs and chairs with your fabric, etc.).
