About the Item

Vintage wall mirror features a charming Folk Art version of a traditional American Empire wall mirror with cat themed decor placed in the upper section of the frame above the rectangular mirror. The wooden frame is hand-painted in moody, complex green color, reminiscent of the traditional country style painted wooden furniture of 18th and 19th centuries. The lithographic print in upper section dates to 1990s, allowing us to date the mirror. The convenient size allows the mirror to be used in various locations, either wall mounted or propped on the shelf or mantelpiece. Provenance: the mirror was acquired at the multigenerational homestead estate in Western New York state. We are offering a charming Folk Art large hand-painted wrought iron sitting cat statue from the same homestead in a separate listing. Striking, decorative mirror, with high quality craftsmanship, traditional Americana and Folk Arts charm, and appealing color palette, will make a great gift to a collector or design enthusiast and a perfect addition to a wide range of interiors, from Traditional to Organic Modern, Modern Heritage, English Cottage, Colonial Revival, Brutalist, Scandinavian Modern, Modern Country, Collected, or Contemporary.
