About the Item

Inspired by the Sacred Ceiba trees in Havana, Joao Faria created the stunning Roots Mirror for contemporary homes. It is handcrafted using carefully selected metals and materials. Many consider this piece a work of art, like a sculpture. The author made it entirely in Portugal artisanally. Its manufacturing process is time-consuming because, among other complex operations, every mirror insert is drawn, cut, and fitted onto the metal structure without machinery. The metal structure, which contains the root design, is made from a thick and resistant stainless steel sheet. This listing is for a mirror made with stainless steel brushed by hand and a clear glass mirror. The Roots Collection includes coffee tables, console tables, desks, and screens. Each piece is handmade to order, allowing us to manufacture it in custom combinations. If you're interested in a custom-made option, please contact us through the 1stdibs message center. The presented production lead time is the maximum time we will take to make this piece for you. If it is ready before, we will send it sooner. We prefer to say a longer time and surprise you before you expect. Customised options: Metal: Stainless steel, brass, or copper (these metals can have a polished, brushed, or "Industrial Chic" finish). You can choose between stainless steel, copper, brass, or lacquered steel. Stainless steel, copper, and brass can be finished in a polished, brushed, or "Industrial Chic" finish. The "Industrial Chic" finish is handmade by the author, making every piece truly unique. The lacquered steel can be any RAL colour. The polished metal finish takes longer to manufacture than the brushed or "Industrial Chic" styles because the polishing operation is time-consuming and requires several steps for surface preparation. Mirror: Clear, grey, black, or bronze. Back: It can be in different lacquer colours or wood veneers, such as ironwood, black oak, tineo, and ebony macassar. The wood finish can be matt, satin or high-gloss. Custom dimensions are only available after analysis. For added security, the mirror should be securely nailed to the wall. We send all the hardware to ensure its safe attachment. This piece is assembled, and it will be delivered in a wooden box packed in bubble wrap. Labour of love from Portugal.
