To ensure its authenticity and collectible value, every piece is individually signed and numbered by the artists. Mathematics shapes our world—both abstract and deeply rooted in nature. Cosmic View, an installation for Singer Laren, explored the transition from surface to volume, merging logic with the beauty of natural forms. Tori, originally part of this installation, stands on its own as a striking object. Crafted from precisely cut aluminum, each element is hand-bent to perfection and assembled with fine bolts, creating a refined structural detail. Tori fragments its surroundings into an abstract collection of reflections, transforming space into shifting planes of color and light. Tori merges high-tech precision with handcraft. CNC-milled aluminum ensures sharp, clean lines, while each piece is handbent to its exact angle. Small bolts and nuts secure the structure, adding a refined detail to the back—both functional and aesthetic. This balance of advanced milling and meticulous finishing highlights the fusion of technology and craftsmanship. Sustainability plays a vital role in Martens & Visser’s work. The studio works with materials by applying them in a pure way, without unnecessary additions. This approach gives seemingly simple materials a new, timeless value. Their work embodies a natural authenticity, allowing materials to reveal their true essence. This honesty is central to their practice, ensuring that each piece is both aesthetically and ecologically considered. Studio Martens & Visser, creates objects of wonder, playful interior pieces and immersive installations inspired by nature and the beauty of physics. Founded by Michiel Martens and Jetske Visser, both alumni Design Academy Eindhoven.
