Rare huge 33 inch diameter size- with a pleasant resonating sound guaranteed to please you Here's a handsome and awesome hand hammered early 20th century bronze gong which was found from an old Japanese Kyoto prefecture temple. This large scale antique gong comes with the later striker as shown. Dimensions: Bottom of bronze gong to top of cord hanger is 49 inches. Bronze Gong alone is 33 inches diameter and 7.5 inches thick. Heavy. The striker is 9 inches long. Extra oversized massively thick bronze with a deep resonating sound guaranteed to please you. Found in Japan and used by Temple Buddhist monks, this unusual extra 7.5 inch thick bronze gong is the first of this bell size we have seen. It was likely a precious, highly coveted hand hammered musical art form crafted by the finest specialized bronze craftsmen from and imported into Japan from Java, a highly valued Japanese trading partner, way back when. A unique and authentic Buddhist antique treasure perfect for your home, studio, or an impressive garden ornament. Excellent condition no repairs or damages. When struck, it creates a deep reverberating and bold sound which will entertain your house guests indoors or out of doors in your garden.
