71046 Antique Caucasian Shirvan Runner with Boteh Pattern and Modern Federal Style. With its clean lines and subtle use of ornament, this hand knotted wool antique Caucasian Shirvan runner beautifully embodies classically refined Federal style. The Caucasian carpet runner displays an all-over repetitive pattern of opulent boteh motifs. The widely used boteh motif is thought to symbolize life with its resemblance to a number of natural forms, including leaves, bushes, pinecones, sprouts and flames. It represents potential for growth and regeneration. Idyllic waves of abrash dash horizontally across the boteh patterned field, enhancing the depth that connects home interiors with the elements of nature. It is finished with a leaf and calyx style (wine glass) border flanked with inner and outer leaf and carnation guard bands. With a dazzling poly-chromatic color palette and impressive display of blooming boteh, this antique Shirvan runner would bring a sense of vivacity and sophistication to nearly any space.
