Verneh Rug, 19th century Verneh rugs are handmade Caucasian rugs that are usually woven in two pieces and joined together. They are woven in the Soumak style, which creates a flat-weave textile that is similar to a Kilim but more complex, thicker, and significantly more durable. Verneh rugs are highly valued and very desirable on the collector and designer markets. This particular Verneh is in excellent original condition for being made in the 1800s.
