Collectors item which is highly usuable. Perfect condition. 50% discount Original, authentic tribal Gabbehs are sought after, comparatively rare. There is a profusion of modern weavings called Gabbehs, rather loosely. This is the real thing. Gabbehs were thick mattress like sleeping blankets woven for home use by nomadic tribes, principally the Qashgais and Afshars. They were also used as tent carpets. This is a delightful example of Gabbeh art, simple, with exceptional bright blue hues created by mixing a mineral substance with indigo . All natural dyes and authentic . Thick, sturdy and ideal as a long wearing rug .
