Antique Tekke Turkmen ‘dip khali’ rug, with soft warm red colour Circa 1900 'Dip Kahli' are considered to be ‘half size’ rugs; half the length and half the width of a main carpet This example has 3 rows of 10 Tekke guls on a very soft madder red field, the borders are of the 'sun burst' design with small stars Note the original large elem panels at each end The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile, the rug has soft wool and a floppy handle The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display The rug is suitable for normal domestic use Additional information: Place of Origin: Turkmenistan Period: Circa 1900 Size: 6ft 1in x 3ft 11in (185 x 120cm) Reference: Circa 1900
