Mid century hand knotted Afghan Khan wool carpet 13ft x 10ft An Afghan Turkmen carpet C.1940 Measures: Approx: 386cm. x 306cm. This 13 x 10 ft rug is referred to as an oversized or "Khan" rug (rarer sizes made for tribal leaders). Khan rugs are handknotted by Turkmenians in northern Afghanistan. Good quality wool and fine knotting make these rugs exceptional value and hard-wearing. Ideal for high traffic areas and hallways. Completely unique and individually made. Well drawn overall, large floral lattice design with typical colour scheme. Ends with original kilim and fringes. Selvages also original. The carpet has a good pile, With minimal wear.
