This exceptional example of Chinese Art Deco weaving captures the sophisticated aesthetic popular in the 1930s. Unlike traditional designs, this piece embraces asymmetry and open space, characteristic of the era's departure from classical motifs. It stands as a remarkable piece within our collection of antique rugs. The field is dominated by a rich, saturated shade of deep teal or forest green, providing a dramatic, velvety backdrop for the central design. This specific shade was highly prized during the Deco period for its ability to anchor luxurious interiors.
