Handwoven in a blend of premium wool and natural yarns, this 8x10 rug is from the contemporary flatweaves in Rug & Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—its design is inspired by classic Swedish minimalist rug and textile designs of the Scandinavian weaving traditions. On the Design: This flatweave enjoys a vibrant and dynamic large-scale checkered grid pattern set against a warm, polychromatic field. The layout features an organized, architectural lattice of soft blush pinks and deep, saturated red squares, defined by textural, stitch-like detailing in mustard yellow that contains intricate, miniature checkerboard motifs in playful pops of grass green and magenta. This rhythmic, structured layout draws inspiration from the Swedish minimalist movement and its iconic historical works, adapted in such a beautifully expressive fashion that it remains as contemporary in its beauty today as it was during the height of the Scandinavian design era.
