Made with hand-knotted wool and silk, this 3x3 contemporary rug is an exciting new addition to the Block Print line of Rug & Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection—a sophisticated and elegant new approach to a historic style. On the Design: This piece underscores floral patterns in green with subtle hints of beige tones. Though this form represents a more minimalist approach, keen eyes will note inspiration from the many provenances known for repeating floral patterns in dense, deftly woven designs as this—a thoughtful and elegant new take on a traditional look. Keen eyes will note a high-and-low texture married to each pattern—an element of dimensionality that lends a gorgeous compliment to the sense of movement and depth. The block printing process is one of the oldest in textile design and has seen many adaptations.
