Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 5x6 rug from the custom-classics Burano Collection by Rug & Kilim is inspired by turn-of-the-century antique Caucasian rugs of Kazak provenance. On the Design: Admirers of the craft may know Kazak rugs for their particularly bright, vibrant hues among their many beauties, and appreciate this unexpected approach to the style. In this piece, the more traditional, rich colors of such provenance have been exchanged for these bright, contemporary hues in a whole new way to look at the style. Cool blues, creams, beige-browns and light golds underscore the same bold, graphic geometric patterns and tribal medallions of the Kazak sensibility—a fresh, revitalized approach to a classic.
