This modern 12x18 rug is a new addition to the Mid-Century Modern rug collection by Rug & Kilim. Hand-knotted in wool, its design represents a contemporary take on 1950s postmodern aesthetics in an all-new high-end quality. Further on the Design: This piece draws on mid-century British avant garde art, and adapts it with an equally avant garde craftsmanship. Its field favors dark blue while its patterns enjoy black and brown with silver and white notes in particular. A connoisseur will further admire the fine curves that translate these geometric patterns to this oversized scale. Everything from the refined texture to the meticulous detail achieves an immersive look like that of a painting underfoot. The result is a masterpiece of this collection—the first major translation of this iconic style to handmade area rugs.
