Hand woven in high quality wool, a unique contrast is employed between the non-outlined pink field symbols and the richly outlined depictions throughout the borders, likely intended to highlight the important regional symbolism in the center. The field celebrates continuously drawn pomegranates on branches with seedlings (important Khotan symbols of fertility and bounty) against the beige and earthen brown border, strongly resembling a harvest field.
