Handwoven in wool and other undyed natural yarns, this 8x10 Scandinavian style flatweave honors the Carpet Design Awards winner “Marta Stripe” and reinvents it with a contemporary take on an iconic mid-century modern Swedish aesthetic. On the design: These photos represent a recently sold 8x10 flatweave from our Scandinavian Kilim line of the collection. Our Scandinavian kilim rug honors the style and reinvents it with a new contemporary take on an iconic mid-century modern Swedish aesthetic. This design features gold underscores stripes and geometric patterns with beige-brown, midnight blue and orange accents—a smart warm-and-cool design. It is a new edition of our Carpet Design Awards winner “Marta Stripe” which is named in honor of one of the mothers of Scandinavian style, Märta Måås-Fjetterström, who inspired this collection. Admirers of the craft may admire its technique and look while meaningfully drawing on Scandinavian principles and weaving techniques—which are both entirely unique to our flat weave and custom production for a modern approach.
