Cotton Kayseri rug. A beautiful old Turkish rug with a classical "garden" design featuring many imaginative forms of flora and fauna - perhaps a vision of the Eden. A particularly refined example of the type of rug with wonderful colors. The pile of this rug is knotted with mercerized cotton which has a lustrous appearance and is stronger than regular cotton - these rugs were often presented as silk.
