This vintage 7x9 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s mid-century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren. Further on the Design: Amongst the rare polychromatic works of the artist, the piece enjoys a montage of colors in a look of striae and subtle geometric patterns. Keen eyes will note the sheer attention to detail, and admire this as a collectible of Müren’s abstract rugs. The way such chaotic colors play so naturally with the shabby-chic distress is a rare beauty, and an exemplar of his one-of-a-kind sensibility. A joyful piece of art as much as a rare hand-knotted rug. Further on the Condition: This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage. Ready for the floor, and especially well-suited to projects yearning for country aesthetics. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970.
