About the Item

Titled Fioritura Mimetica, this hand-knotted wool rug was originally conceived for Pierre Marie’s own apartment, where drawing was extended beyond paper and applied across textiles, surfaces, and architectural volumes through a close dialogue with craftsmanship. The interior was approached as a unified decorative system, in which motifs circulate between stained glass, custom fabrics, tapestries, rugs, and wall panels. Within this context, the rug functions as a grounding element, translating Pierre Marie’s graphic language into a tactile and spatial surface. Handmade in India using New Zealand wool, the rug features an approximate density of 100 knots, offering both durability and refined texture. Pierre Marie Studio is a Paris-based design studio specializing in the development and fabrication of bespoke decorative artworks and furniture, working closely with architects and interior designers.
