About the Item

A large armchair profusely carved with pierced shell and floral garland cresting, 24 carat gold gilding. Three available, sold individually. These chairs were purchased from French and Company in New York, and given as a gift from his daughters to Mr. Charles Deering, founding member of the Agriculture Machinery Company and were also exhibited in the Speed Art Museum. They have been re-upholstered in tan velvet. $13,500 each
