Italian Art Nouveau Embossed Leather Armchair from the Private Collection of Architect Gianantonio Malacrida An elegant Italian Art Nouveau armchair of exceptional decorative character, preserved within the private collection of architect Gianantonio Malacrida. This refined seating piece embodies the ornamental sensibility and artisanal craftsmanship that defined the Liberty movement in Italy at the turn of the 20th century. Presented in its original condition, the armchair retains a remarkable patina that speaks to its age and authenticity. The upholstery is executed in richly toned leather, masterfully embossed with sinuous floral motifs typical of the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The vegetal ornamentation-delicately incised into the surface-reveals the high level of craftsmanship involved in its execution, allowing the decorative pattern to emerge through texture rather than applied embellishment.
