About the Item

Constructed in solid oak with a warm amber-brown tone, this high-back armchair features three vertical splats beneath a shaped, scalloped crest rail — a hallmark of Dutch Deco furniture production. Turned front arm supports carry gently sweeping curved armrests, and a bobbin-turned H-stretcher connects all four turned legs at the base. The slatted wood seat sits above a carved, scalloped apron, adding decorative weight to the lower frame. Ornate carved and turned detailing appears throughout the piece, reflecting the Amsterdam School's characteristic integration of craft traditions with Deco-era ornamentation. Frame is in original condition with visible wear and patina. Wear is consistent with its age and use. Other similar Dutch Deco chairs available and listed separately.
