This is a very well made and good looking, super comfortable Library Reading armchair, the arms are a real piece de resistance of sculptural carving, I have never seen them on another of this type As I'm sure your aware, this piece is attributed to Howard, it has the Howard style and font serial numbers stamped on both legs indicative of their early pieces before they added the all signing and dancing full name and address, the quality and style of craftsmanship is also exactly the same, if this had the full address stamped it would be priced around the £8950 mark, as it stands I have priced it as not a Howard to keep everyone happy In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished the timber from top to bottom, there will be normal age and use related patina marks here and there from genuine age and honest use, mostly its a super fine example Dimensions Height 89cm Width 69cm Depth 92cm Seat height 36cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
