Offering One of Our Recent Palm Beach Estate Fine Furniture Acquisitions Of A Set of 4 MCM Italian Marco Zanuso Paolo Buffa Style Club Chairs Mid-Century Modern lounge/club chairs, most likely American-made, circa late 1950s–1960s. The style strongly resembles work by Italian makers of the same period such as designs in the manner of Marco Zanuso or Paolo Buffa. Key indicators: Silhouette: The high, gently winged back, sculpted barrel arms, and rounded seat are classic hallmarks of this era. Legs: Dark tapered walnut-toned wood legs — a signature of Italian mid-century production. Construction: The exposed frame reveals sinuous/no-sag springs on green webbing straps over a plywood/hardwood seat frame — consistent with quality Italian production from the 1950s–60s. Other Features: The sweeping "butterfly" back that flares dramatically at the top. Arms that are integrated into the upholstered shell rather than attached separately. Built-in tapered Walnut legs that emerge directly from the frame instead of being screwed-on legs. Tight upholstery over a highly shaped frame. Continuous piping tracing the entire silhouette. Clip on straps that keep the cushions in place. These are very well-made, solid, and heavy chairs. Approximate Measurements in Inches 28 1/2" high at back 33" wide 33" deep (back to front) 18" high at seat 22" deep x 22" wide inside seat 24" high at arms Condition Report In good, structurally sound, and sturdy condition with no smells. There are stains and they need professional cleaning or new upholstery (recommended). We have not tried to clean them.
