About the Item

Mid Century Modern vintage pair of armchairs from beech designed by Franz Schuster, model Altheim, 1950s Vienna for Wiesner-Hager. A beautiful pair of armchairs windsor like in wonderful form. The pair of armchairs could wonderfully combined with Contemporary, Classic, Mid Century Modern. Company´s label is underneath the seat. Good condition with minor signs of age and use. Franz Schuster Austrian architect and designer. He studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule guided by Oskar Strnad and Heinrich Tessenow. His job history ranged from self-employed architect in Hellerau ( from 1922 - 1923) till guide for the specialist class in furniture design (1937-1963). He followed Josef Frank and Josef Hoffmann at the Kunstgewerbeschule Frank (1926-1927) and Josef Hoffmann (1937-1963).
