This is a pair of antique morning room elbow chairs. An English, mahogany lounge or reception hall seat, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835. Excellent seating, with striking figuring and form Presenting a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest, and superb flame figuring Both chairs benefit from a recent professional reupholstering Eye-catching bowed crest rails, with scrolled ends and distinctive gadrooned finish The back rail accentuated with a foliate patera and charming leaf detail Fluted side supports and arm detail framing the drop-in seat cushion Bold scrolled arms adding a delightful aesthetic flourish Traditionally stuffed seat dressed in a tasteful silk cotton upholstery Seat form sets the cushion at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25'') Presented in gold and burgundy, the pattern adding to the visual appeal Superb front legs with gadrooned and cupped finish over peg feet Rear square section legs arching gracefully from the back rest This is an endearing pair of antique morning room elbow chairs, offering tasteful upholstery and superb craftsmanship.
