About the Item

This reclining armchair is a rare example of the Czech version of the Art Deco style from the early 20th century. The world famous company Thonet manufactured this piece. During this period, Thonet masterfully combined its tradition of bentwood furniture with new geometric and decorative elements of modernism. The chair represents the peak of period comfort thanks to its adjustable position, making it an ideal piece for relaxation. The entire item underwent thorough restoration. The solid beech construction is completely stable and solid. During the restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively refreshed, highlighting the natural structure of the beech wood. The chair was newly and professionally upholstered exactly according to the original manufacturer design. The used period fabric with floral patterns adds an authentic historical touch and elegance to the piece. This is a unique centerpiece that combines the top craftsmanship of Thonet with the unmistakable style of the interwar era. Our professional refurbishing team in Czechia has fully restored it according to the original process. It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. This item features classic Art Deco elements. Art Deco is a style that originated in France in the early 20th century. Its furniture designs are meticulously crafted, usually using exotic woods. Pieces are typically lacquered to give off a dazzling gloss. These eloquently crafted pieces will add visual performance and posh to any interior.
