Introducing a set of rare, early Model 42 armchairs designed by the influential Erik Kirkegaard for Høng Stolefabrik. Recently restored and featuring newly upholstered in a stylish orange vinyl this now iconic armchair set is perfect for designers and collectors alike searching for a set of genuine Model 42's that is ready for a lifetime more of use. Erik Kirkegaard (1929-1986) was a renowned Danish furniture designer known for his simple, elegant and functional designs. He was born in Denmark and trained as a cabinetmaker before studying furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Kirkegaard began his career as a furniture designer in the 1950s, and quickly gained recognition for his innovative designs. His furniture was characterized by its clean lines, simplicity, and functionality, and he often used natural materials such as teak and leather which are on full display with this custom-restored set of Model 42's. With their restored solid teak frames replete with outstanding woodgrains, new upholstery and iconic stance this extraordinary Model 42 armchair set is the perfect fit for both home and office setting and can blend seamlessly against a myriad of design backdrops from Mid-Century Modern to Boho Chic to Contemporary and everything in between. The newly upholstered vinyl in a bold, vintage feeling orange, is in showroom condition with no rips, stains or odors of any kind.
