First Half 18th Century, Italian Lacquered Wood Bench Dimensions: L 156 cm x H 138 cm x D 35.5 cm; Seat height without cushion 47 cm, with cushion 53 cm This elegant bench was made in the Veneto region (Italy), in lacquered wood, during the first half of the 18th century. The piece stands out for its brightness, achieved through a light and delicate color palette, enriched by a rich trompe-l’œil decoration of architectural taste, simulating marble panels, molded frames, and flowing baroque-style volutes. The surfaces are enlivened by polychrome floral motifs, skillfully integrated to lighten and enhance the overall effect.
