Incredible piece of work from William Emmerson Ab Ovo Collection - the Leather Hanging Pod Chair. Constructed of a solid steel substrate which is then wrapped in French hand-dyed leather including the base and floating seat. The finest construction possible. Its circular form invites one to enter a realm of serenity. The seat is suspended in mid-air and The Pod hovers gracefully, defying gravity. It's a delicate balance of artistry and engineering feat. Gorgeous supple leather hand dyed and tufted. Exquisite craftsmanship. William Emmerson, founder and principal of William Emmerson Inc. is a world-renowned British designer, sculptor, an innovator. He attributes the birth of this multidisciplinary company, known for its unique juxtaposition of the modern and vintage worlds, to his early childhood in London where he grew up watching his father carve and create wooden sculptures. A versatile early career in Los Angeles, weaving eight years of art direction for film and videos and four years of working with master craftsmen to build furniture, cabinetry, has characterized his exclusive and unique compositions.
