About the Item

Baenk Bench by Nur Design. Materials: Solid Oak and Upholstery. Dimensions: D 42.5 x W 110 x H 45 cm. The founders, Mia and Torben Koed, decided to put their 30 years of experience into a new project. It was time for a change and a new challenge. The challenge was to build an ambitious design brand from the ground up with high-quality materials and great attention to the little details. With a drive to create new originals, the WOUD collection is founded upon the idea to look ahead instead of looking back and share the love for honest design. Therefore, we are eager to discover and develop new ideas whether it being in form, function or choice of material. NUR Design is a Danish design studio focusing on Nordic traditions with a strive to create classic and functional design. In German, the word ‘nur’ means ‘only’ and ‘simply’ which is the essential expression of the designs. The designer behind the studio, Maja Bøgh Vindbjerg, graduated from the school of architecture in Aarhus in 2015, which is visible in the sculptural and architectonic lines of her designs. With a minimalistic expression in mind, she aims to create timeless and long-lasting designs that are suitable for many different purposes. Her understanding of production methods and the challenges and opportunities various materials provide results in clean designs with great attention to detail. NUR Design was one of the first designers who teamed up with WOUD and she has been a great part of the designer collective ever since. With a wide product range consisting of Baenk bench, Gap pendants, Geyma sideboard, Lean lounge chair, Soround coffee tables and her most recent design, Auka flower stand, she has left her mark on the WOUD collection.
