About the Item

Marvelous vintage pair of chairs with oak frames and floral fabric, selling as frames only. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if they have been refinished or restored. Specifically, the chairs will need reupholstered as the fabric is very worn and delicate, we have even glued together a tear in one seat, they are priced accordingly. The frames retain the original patinated finish including scratches, dings, nicks, and a bit of fading as you would expect with a vintage piece. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century. The Sun… It is a FABULOUS 4.6 BILLION-year-old dwarf star at the center of our solar system. And with a 435,000 mile radius… it is over 109 times wider than Earth. MASSIVE… warming…. And although it takes the light from the sun 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach Earth’s atmosphere…. it is inconceivable what kind of DAMAGE it can do to some otherwise FABULOUS FABRIC in that amount of time!!!!! (Insert frowny face!) Let’s get to it folks… This is a fantastic pair of Mid-Century Modern lounge or side chairs composed of oak frames with straight square front and back legs, swooped arms, and semi attached seat cushions wearing a fabulous floral fabric that has definitely seen better days. SIGH!!!!! We adore the fabric, but we think in their previous home the chairs sat somewhere in a sunny space for A WHILE as the oak frame of one chair has faded AND the fabric has faded and has become very delicate or all around fragile and brittle. It’s just time for it to retire and get a little “nip-tuck” or “facelift” in their vintage, present life. But, we never look at reupholstering as a bad thing!!! Just imagine all the fabric possibilities!!! SOOOO many colors, textures, patterns, solids…. ENDLESS possibilities to create just the right look for your space!!! An interior designers DREAM!!!! With a little love this pair of chairs can be brought back to life and are sure to be the favorite new vintage addition to your home!! They would be great in your bedroom, floating in the center of a sitting or reading room, facing the fireplace in your study, as extra seating in your living or family room! Much like the Sun… these chairs are a HOT ITEM!!! They are priced accordingly… so if you love them you better grab them while you can… they just won’t last!!
