About the Item

Stylish and elegant mid century black painted iron and rattan chair designed by Dirk van Sliedregt for the Gebroeders (brothers) Jonkers in the Netherlands. Dirk van Sliedregt (1920-2010) was a self made man who went from being a furniture maker to furniture designer to interior architect to teacher to Academy director. After the second world war period, Dirk van Sliedregt designed over 250 attractive pieces of furniture taking in consideration comfort, shortage of materials and lack of space. This 70 year old beauty is a one of those results. It is in great vintage condition and a jewel in just about any interior. Seating height is 44 cm. The chair will be shipped insured overseas in a custom made wooden crate. Cost of transport is crate included.
