About the Item
Fine pair of Danish dining or side chairs from Copenhagen, circa 1820, in Empire style. Birch or alder wood, the inlays in maple wood. The backrests very delicately inlaid and engraved with vines, a mascaron in the centre, and statues of the gods Minerva respectively Vulcan on darkened ground.
Both chairs are very elegant and eleborate and we can assume a noble provenance. Today they fit seamlessly into both modern and classic interiors.
