About the Item

A rare pair of French dining chairs from the 1950s. The solid wooden frames show a clear architectural structure, with open backs, angled legs and finely proportioned armrests. This pair has been fully restored and reglued, with new leather webbing made from the same type of natural leather originally used for these chairs in France during the period. These chairs match a set of eight Risom chairs we are also offering and are in the same restored condition. The only difference is that these chairs feature one additional leather strap on the backrest, as shown in the last photos. This pair could be added to the set of eight to create a set of ten. Despite the slight difference, they work beautifully together, while also making a striking pair on their own. Restored, with natural signs of age to the wooden frames.
