Introducing a set of four bentwood dining chairs styled after the iconic Model 811 chair designed by Josef Frank & Josef Hoffmann for Stendig. Designed in the 1960s, this chair is a true representation of Mid-Century Modern design and craftsmanship. Constructed from bentwood oak, each chair retains it's original condition with light signs of wear and patina consistent with age. The caned backs are also original and add an elegant touch to the design. The seats, in a warm brown wool, perfectly offsets the blonde oak woodgrains. The tapered legs and sculpted backrests create a sleek and sophisticated look that will complement any dining room, living or office space. Josef Frank and Josef Hoffmann were both renowned architects and designers of the early 20th century. The oak bentwood frames show only minor signs of vintage wear such as nicks and scratches (mostly relegated to the feet) the worst examples of which can be seen in the detail photos provided. The caning is in excellent shape showing no stains or breaks whatsoever and all backrests are weight-bearing. The woolen seats show only minor burns (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). If desired, we can re-upholster this set in a fabric of your choosing.
