About the Item

This elegant set of four Italian dining chairs, produced during the 1960s, combines clean Scandinavian-inspired lines with the practicality and craftsmanship of Italian furniture design. Crafted in solid beech, the chairs feature slender tapered legs and a gently curved backrest shaped from a single piece of wood. The softly sculpted silhouette gives each chair a light appearance while providing comfortable support, making them suitable for both dining and everyday use. One of the most distinctive details is the X-shaped structural support beneath the seat. Manufactured in molded plastic, it reinforces the frame while adding a subtle modern contrast to the warmth of the natural beech. This engineering solution reflects the experimental use of new materials that characterized many European furniture designs of the 1960s. The seats are currently upholstered in a light patterned fabric. The current upholstery is intended as a base for customization. The chairs are offered ready for reupholstery, giving the future owner complete freedom in selecting the preferred fabric or leather. We are happy to arrange professional reupholstery upon request, ensuring a finish that complements both the chairs and the intended interior. The overall construction is simple yet carefully executed. The well-balanced proportions, gently rounded edges and solid beech frame demonstrate the quality of Italian craftsmanship during the period, where durability and elegant design were equally important. The wooden frames retain a warm natural patina, with only minor signs of age consistent with careful use over the years.
