About the Item

Teak dining chairs with seats and backs upholstered in brown leather. Made in Denmark, 1960s. Designed by Erik Buch as the "Model 89" for the manufacturer Anderstrup Møbelfabrik, this set of six chairs was made in Denmark around the 1960s. The collection faithfully interprets the principles of mid-century Scandinavian design, which are based on functionality, balanced proportions, and high-quality materials. The teak wood frame features clean lines, with a curved backrest and a contoured seat, both upholstered in brown leather. The chairs rest on square-section legs with organic joints typical of Danish craftsmanship of that period. The fluid lines and minimalist design underscore its Nordic modernist aesthetic. Good conditions. Potrebbe presentare dei segni del tempo. Please pay attention to the photographs. AG099

Enhance your dining space with this exquisite set of six chairs designed by Niels O. Møller for J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, featuring the iconic and rare Model 77 dining chair. Crafted from solid old growth teak wood, these chairs exemplify the timeless elegance and superior craftsmanship of Danish Modern design. The seats have been re-corded by the previous owner using a more open, unlaced weaving technique, adding a unique and contemporary touch to the classic design. If this style of cording does not suit your taste, please message us prior to checkout to discuss your re-cording or reupholstery options. This set of chairs is a perfect blend of form and function, making it a sophisticated addition to any dining area. Niels Otto Moller was a Danish furniture designer, known for his modern and functional designs. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and went on to work for various furniture manufacturers, including J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, where he designed the Model 80 Dining Chairs. J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik was a Danish furniture manufacturer, founded in 1944 by Jorgen Langkilde Moller. The company was known for producing high-quality furniture in the Danish Modern style, using materials such as teak and oak. The company was in operation until the late 1970s. We currently only have these six Model 77 chairs in stock and when they sell they're gone forever. Make them yours today! ---Dimensions--- Width: 19.5 in / 49.53 cm Depth: 19.5 in / 49.53 cm Height: 30 in / 76.2 cm Seat Height: 18 in / 45.72 cm This set of ultra-rare model 77 Møller dining chairs has undergone some minor repairs over the years. The most involved repair includes dowls and can be seen in the photos provided. There are also scratches, nicks and other smaller crack repairs present (all of which can be seen clearly in the detail photos provided). With that said the solid teak frames and legs are in overall very good shape and the woodgrains are absolutely mesmerizing in natural light. As purists, we strive to keep our pieces in as original condition as possible. However we offer a full-range of expert restoration services from carpentry to upholstery to fabrication.
