Unique Nubi Chair in Gradient White & Black PETG by UNICOGGETTO Dimensions: D 60 x W 61,7 x H 64,3 cm. Materials: PETG. Available in different color options. Please contact us. This series originated in 2014, and the graphic inspiration comes from the natural landscape when strong light passes through the intersection of two clouds. The continuous characteristic of the lateral line segments is the main feature of this series. The hyperbolic surfaces also enable the works of this series to be stably manufactured and integrally formed by large-scale additive manufacturing equipment, using recyclable PETG polymer composite materials produced in Germany. Compared with the pure expression of line forms, this series is more concerned with the rationality of structural design. With the reasonable use of two or more hyperbolic surfaces, the maximum bearing capacity can be achieved with the least amount of material. The arc limit of the hyperbolic surfaces is constrained by two factors: ergonomics and manufacturing limits. Each product in this series provides different solutions to balance these two factors. UNICOGGETTO Zihan Zhao Born in 1990 and a graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Zihan Zhao founded UNICOGGETTO in 2021 as a space-art brand dedicated to the evolution of "Functional Art." His practice is defined by a long-term research project: the experimental manual intervention in mechanical production. This philosophy creates a dialogue between the precision of digital additive sculpting and the soul of multi-material composite craftsmanship. A prime example is the Khipu Series, where algorithmic foundations are transformed by intuitive hand-shaping, ensuring that every lighting fixture is an entirely unique, one-of-a-kind sculpture. Drawing inspiration from fluid organic forms and the refraction of light, Zhao’s work seeks a precise balance between design and sculpture. By investigating formal archetypes and innovative textures, he creates objects that possess a strong iconographic identity, free from rigid industrial schemes. With a strategic presence enabling simultaneous resonance in both Europe and Asia, UNICOGGETTO serves as a versatile partner for brands and institutions, offering a visionary product development and a precise spatial planning that bridges artistic intuition with global market impact.
