Crafted in France circa 1890, the walnut daybed features a graceful serpentine silhouette with scrolled arms, shaped bolster wings, and a double-caned back that gives the piece a light, refined appearance. The richly carved walnut frame is decorated with rocaille, floral, and foliate motifs, including carved accents along the crest, apron, knees, and whorl feet. The single-caned seat is supported by cabriole legs joined with pegged construction, reflecting the quality craftsmanship of the late 19th Century. The upper back retains a decorative upholstered valance trimmed with fringe, adding warmth and texture while complementing the natural cane and walnut finish. The antique chaise lounge is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with sturdy construction, beautiful hand-woven caning, and a warm patinated walnut finish throughout.
