Sourced in Provence, France, this early 20th century French daybed is executed in the Louis XVI taste and showcases an elegant combination of painted wood, hand caning, and original upholstery. The frame is raised on fluted tapering legs and accented with carved rosette corner blocks, while the rolled ends terminate in graceful scrolls that lend the piece a refined architectural presence. The hand-caned end panels reveal a decorative painted lattice motif beneath, rendered in soft sage-green, creating a subtle layer of visual depth rarely found on comparable examples. The painted finish retains its original patina, with gentle wear throughout that enhances the daybed's authentic character.
