About the Item

This exceptional set of six Model 79 side chairs by Niels Otto Møller for J.L. Møller Møbelfabrik represents the pinnacle of Danish Modern design. Crafted in rich, warm teak, each chair features Møller’s signature sculptural backrest with its elegantly curved top rail and the graceful, tapered legs that define the Model 79. The seats have been newly upholstered in supple Gaucho cognac-colored leather, providing rich warmth, luxurious comfort, and a beautiful contrast to the teak frames. Niels Otto Møller founded J.L. Møller Møbelfabrik in 1934, and by the 1960s the workshop had earned international acclaim for its uncompromising quality and timeless designs. The Model 79 is one of his most iconic and enduring chairs, prized by collectors for its perfect balance of organic form, ergonomic comfort, and exceptional craftsmanship. These versatile Model 79 side chairs are ideal around a dining table or as refined accent seating. Their refined scale and rich teak make them equally at home in classic Danish Modern or contemporary interiors. A complete and highly desirable set of authentic Niels Møller Model 79 chairs from the golden age of Danish furniture design. ---Dimensions--- Width: 19.75 in / 50.17 cm Depth: 19 in / 48.26 cm Height: 30.5 in / 77.47 cm Seat Height: 17.5 in / 44.45 cm This stunning set of Møller Model 79 dining chairs has recently undergone a complete and transformative restoration process and the results speak for themselves! The solid Burmese Teak frames have been hand-sanded and refinished, giving these ubiquitous chairs a sense of definition and character and showcase the stunning variegated woodgrains unique to the hardwood species with no scratches or other wear present whatsoever. The seats have been re-strapped and reupholstered in a rich, thick-cut genuine Italian leather hide in a fabulous hazelnut brown tone perfectly off-setting the natural wood tones of the solid teak frames. This bespoke, custom-designed and hand-restored set is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use. Please view all photos and natural light video provided for details on this limited set's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so we recommend requesting additional photos and videos to get a true sense of this incredible set of Møller 79's.

Crafted from solid old growth teak wood, these chairs exemplify the timeless elegance and superior craftsmanship of Danish Modern design. The seats have been re-corded by the previous owner using a more open, unlaced weaving technique, adding a unique and contemporary touch to the classic design. If this style of cording does not suit your taste, please message us prior to checkout to discuss your re-cording or reupholstery options. This set of chairs is a perfect blend of form and function, making it a sophisticated addition to any dining area. Niels Otto Moller was a Danish furniture designer, known for his modern and functional designs. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and went on to work for various furniture manufacturers, including J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, where he designed the Model 80 Dining Chairs. J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik was a Danish furniture manufacturer, founded in 1944 by Jorgen Langkilde Moller. The company was known for producing high-quality furniture in the Danish Modern style, using materials such as teak and oak. The company was in operation until the late 1970s. We currently only have these six Model 77 chairs in stock and when they sell they're gone forever. Make them yours today! ---Dimensions--- Width: 19.5 in / 49.53 cm Depth: 19.5 in / 49.53 cm Height: 30 in / 76.2 cm Seat Height: 18 in / 45.72 cm This set of ultra-rare model 77 Møller dining chairs has undergone some minor repairs over the years. With that said the solid teak frames and legs are in overall very good shape and the woodgrains are absolutely mesmerizing in natural light.
