Antique set of eight French Henri II style dining chairs crafted in walnut with hand-caned seats and backs, sourced in Provence, France. Dating to the late 19th century, the chairs feature finial-capped posts, fluted uprights, turned spindle galleries, turned front legs, and stretcher bases characteristic of the Henri II taste and French Renaissance Revival design. The chairs retain a rich walnut patina with warm tonal variation throughout the frames, complemented by hand-caned seats and backs that add both texture and lightness to the architectural silhouettes. One chair shows slight imperfections to the cane seat, while the frames display scattered surface wear and patina consistent with age and use. Their restrained ornamentation and balanced proportions allow them to pair beautifully with provincial farm tables, monastery tables, or more formal dining interiors.
