About the Item

We are delighted to offer this lovely suite of eight original, early Victorian, hand carved Jacobean revival dining chairs with hand carved Armorial crest, Coat of Arms back rests and new leather upholstery which has been hand dyed A very ornately carved suite of grand dining chairs. The frames are a work of art, each of the the Lion, Unicorn and British St George Cross coat of arms is worth a small fortune on their own, collectors of early oak pieces spend their entire working life looking for period carved coats of arms, I personally had a 17th century example which sold for £30,000, another which was polychrome painted went for £42,000 with another dealer Restoration wise, all the upholstery has been replaced, my upholsterer has fitted plain fully aniline Italian cattle hide leather which I then had hand dyed this deep rich cigar brown colour by my leather polishers. These chairs are the finest example of their type anywhere in the world today. The frames have all been checked, glued and clamped as required, this suite is ready to go X6 Standard chair dimensions Height:- 109.5cm Width:- 51cm Depth:- 50.5cm Seat height:- cm X2 Carver chair dimensions Height:- 125cm Width:- 67cm Depth:- 62.5cm Seat height:- cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
