About the Item

Six French Art Deco Dining Chairs, Walnut and Red Leather, 1940s. This set of six dining chairs is built from solid walnut with wide curved backrests and shaped saber legs at the rear. The architectural silhouette pairs a broad concave crest rail with tapered front legs, giving each dining chair a grounded, sculptural stance. The seats are upholstered in red leather over a walnut frame, echoing the warm tones of the wood. The generous backrest panels and refined proportions place these walnut dining chairs firmly in the French Art Deco tradition. A cohesive set of six well suited to a period or transitional dining room. Fair condition. The walnut shows notable surface wear, staining, and finish loss across the backrests and legs, with chips visible at the crest corners. The red leather seats show scuffing and age. Restoration and refinishing recommended.
